We're down to the business end of the knockout stages at the sixth edition of the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
The final round is being held in the Thai capital Bangkok from 20-23 June.
Defending champions Türkiye only finished sixth in the group stages, one spot ahead of reigning Olympic champions the United States. The Americans, who won the first three editions of the VNL before Italy triumphed in 2022, beat Japan in their final group fixture to clinch the final spot in Bangkok at the Netherlands' expense.
Brazil finished top of the group with 12 wins out of 12, a run which saw them move above Türkiye at the top of the FIVB world rankings with Italy going second.
Table toppers Brazil and Japan are the first teams to book their spots in the semi-finals, as they delivered straight sets wins over Thailand and China respectively on Thursday (20 June). Friday's quarter-finals see Italy take on the USA, before Poland face Türkiye later on.
Five additional Paris 2024 Olympic quota spots* were decided by the FIVB rankings, based on the VNL placings. Italy, China, Japan, and the Netherlands - whose win over Canada on Friday (14 June) all but secured them the quota - plus Kenya, as the top-ranked team from a continent not already represented in Paris, obtaining those berths.
*As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes' participation at the Paris Games depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation at Paris 2024.

The Volleyball Nations League tournaments will be broadcast live on the FIVB's partners in various countries.
Both men's and women's events will also be live on Volleyball World TV, the FIVB's own broadcast platform, with a paid subscription.
