Chance of precipitation represents how likely it is that rain (or other types of precipitation, such as sleet, snow, hail or drizzle) will fall from the sky at a certain time.

Visibility measures the distance at which an object can be clearly seen.

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. If there is a lot of water vapour, the humidity will behigh. The higher the percentage of humidity, the wetter it will feel outside.

Consider sunscreen in direct sunlight.3-5Moderate - Take care during midday hours and do not spend too much time in the sun unprotected. This is the average height of the waves, 1-2 miles out to sea. The height of the waves can vary. Theindividual waves out to sea or at the beach can be higher than this number. If you are close to thewater, keep an eye on the waves to stop you or your belongings being swept away.

This is the average number of seconds between one wave and the next, 1-2 miles out to sea. A long waveperiod (more than 10 seconds) means the waves at the beach may be more powerful. Lifeguards can give youadvice on waves if you’re planning to go into the water.

The arrow shows the average direction of the waves 1-2 miles out to sea. It indicates how sheltered thebeach will be from these waves. If the arrow points towards land, most of the waves’ power will reachthe beach. If the arrow is parallel to or pointing away from land, the wave height is likely to be loweron the beach than it is offshore.

A very warm day, with plenty of summer sunshine.
Today:
Any morning low cloud and mist patches will soon clear to leave a very warm, locally hot day across the region. Small chance of an isolated afternoon shower across the far north. Winds staying light throughout the day. Maximum temperature 28°C.
Tonight:
A fine evening to come, with plenty of sunshine ahead of dusk. Prolonged clear spells overnight, with some low cloud or mist patches returning. A warm and muggy night. Minimum temperature 12°C.
Wednesday:
Another fine and very warm, locally hot, day is expected. An isolated heavy shower possible by the afternoon and evening. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 29°C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Cloudier and cooler on Thursday, with some patchy rain moving southeastwards. Bright and breezy for Friday and Saturday, mainly dry with plenty of sunny spells.

UK long range weather forecast
Fresher conditions than earlier in the week with a westerly wind from the Atlantic, and changeable weather is most likely to prevail through much of this period; the hotter and more humid weather experienced by the south prior to this will most likely have been pushed away into the nearby Continent. The risk of these conditions lingering or returning to the far southeast now looks to be very small. This aside, northwestern areas are likely to see the most frequent rainfall, whilst southern and eastern areas remain drier, and a trend towards more generally settled weather for most of the United Kingdom through the period is probable. Temperatures expected to be around to a little above average.

Typical of the time of year, predictability at this range is very low compared with, say, the winter half of the year, thus forecast confidence is very low. That said, current indications suggest that a continuation of the trend towards more settled weather through mid-July is weakly favoured, with below average rainfall and temperatures around to a little above average. Any more significant rainfall would most likely be in the northwest, and in thunderstorms elsewhere. There is a slightly higher than normal chance of heatwaves developing through this period.
