These Blaze King Wood Stoves | Princess 1006 (2024)

We switched to a Blaze King Wood Stoves and we couldn't be happier. Asside from heat, warmth, we are burning less wood than our old wood stove. Last year we used 1 less cord of wood than with our other wood burning stove. This year we are on pace to burn less wood than last year, but the final numbers are still to early to tell. Efficiency is the greatest feature of the Blaze Kings and if you are worried about catalytic's then you shouldn't be, because they work well. Find out why we love our Blaze King Classic KEJ 1107.

There are two Blaze King wood stoves that qualify for a government tax credit. The Blaze King Wood Stoves princess 1006 and the blaze king wood stoves Classic - KEJ 1107. We own the KEJ 1007 and would purchase it again in a heart beat.

Here are some of the reviews we saw on the net concerning Blaze King Wood Stoves:

  • Holds absolute huge volume of wood and truly burns 20 hours on my oak!I've owned many others, but the King and Princess models are way aheadof the others and burn so clean. Don't even try to compare a pellet stove, they are in a different class.
  • Not my favorite looking stove... but NOTHING is more suited to a serious wood burner
  • With white spruce and sum birch, burn times are plenty long enough toload and heat 2200 sq ft in the interior of Alaska. Don't think much ofthat, but do the homework on our cold degree days here. My mother inlaw got a Vermont castings Encour. I will never question Blaze King Wood Stovesthought processes ever again. You can control the stove much better. Ithas a much broader temperature range starting .....
  • We live in Nenana, Alaska, and are heating a 1400 sq foot leaky loghouse. We have been raving about our Blaze King Wood Stoves Princess sinceinstalling it a month ago. We burn spruce, birch, aspen, and scrapwood. We find the stove performs well with whatever wood we put in it,as long as it is dry. No creosote in the chimney. The stove holds thefire overnight or all day long when we are at work.

As you can see a lot of people love the Blaze King Wood Stoves and it might not be the best looking stove but it sure is a workhorse. Don't forget to read our wood stoves guide for how to read some numbers you will see below.

Blaze King Wood Stoves: Princess 1006 Series

These Blaze King Wood Stoves | Princess 1006 (1)

The princess 1006 comes in three different models (Parlor, Ultra or Classic).

The classic has been around since 1977 but don't let that fool you. It has been engineered during this time to reach an 82.5% efficiency rating. The emissions are a low 2.42 grams per hour

You can either purchase this wood burning stove in either a catalytic stove or a non catalytic wood stove. The base comes in two choices: parlor legs or a convection stand. The view to the left is a convection base which is an optional feature.

They all burn up to 40,000 Btu's - translated - the ability to heat 1500+ square feet. These stoves allow you to burn logs up to 16" long and you can load them up with 60 pounds of wood. The 2.8 cu. ft box capacity allows for a 20 hour burn time. These models are approved for mobile homes, but be careful because you might need to open the front door often to cool the home down. :-)

One option that we highly recommend for any wood burning stoves is a blower. The Blaze King princess 1006 has a optional duel jet fan system. This blower will push the hot air above the stove into the room which heats up the home much faster.

Like the Princess this monster King KEJ 1107 wood burning stove is available in Ultra, Parlor and Classic models. You can either chose a catalytic stove or non catalytic.

I'd like to think of this stove as the "double trouble". By that I mean it can burn up to 40 hours on a single load at low settings. The fire box is huge at a rating of 4.27 cu. ft. What that means is you can load up to 80 pounds of wood. The emissions are a low 1.76 grams per hour with an incredible 82.5% efficiency.

It also comes with a industry standard: Limited-5 Year Warranty + 6 Years on Catalytic Combustor.

As I have stated on this website many times, I wanted the Blaze King Wood Stoves Classic KEJ 1107 but was out voted by my wife. The wood stove we have now is a great model, warms the house adequately (if the temps don't fall below 20 degrees) but I know deep down in my heart this stove will do us better. Why don't we purchase another one? Because the one we have now has been working well since the Clinton administration. That's a lot of years.

Moral of the story: There are many good wood burning stoves on the market.

UPDATE: 2010 Guess what? We own the Blaze King Wood Stoves: Classic KEJ 1107. And as you read above we love it and it looks exactly like the picture above. We added the gold plated door and twin blowers and this blaze king wood stove is an absolute MONTSTER.
