Mercedes Benz has a long-standing (and deserved) reputation for luxury. Often this luxury comes in the form of optional packages, that aren’t vital to most owners, but they add that extra touch of quality. A perfect example of this is the Warmth and Comfort package.
The Warmth and Comfort package is one of those options you wouldn’t find on cars from a less premium manufacturer. Everything included in this package is a bonus, features that you could easily live without, but they add that extra touch of luxury.
So what exactly is included in the Warmth and Comfort package, and is it worth the cost?
Let’s start by looking at what is included when choosing the Mercedes Warmth and Comfort package. Mercedes often includes different options within the same package, depending on your vehicle, which adds to the confusion.
This can mean a GLS SUV might have different options included in the Warmth and Comfort package, compared to a GLE. We’ll clear this up below.

What’s included in the Mercedes Benz Warmth And Comfort Package?
The Warmth and Comfort package from Mercedes contains the following options, depending on the model you are buying:
- Rapid heating feature for front seats
- Heated front armrests and upper door panels
- Heated 2nd-row armrests
Rapid heating feature for front seats
The first part of the Warmth and Comfort package is the front seat rapid heating function. This option is self-explanatory – it accelerates the time it takes for your heated seats to warm. You still have the three-level settings on the heated seats, so this doesn’t increase the higher temperature, it just speeds things up.
For me, the heated seats in a Mercedes warm up quickly enough on standard settings. For owners in very cold environments, this could be a useful feature, but on its own, this option isn’t worth it. As part of the Warmth and Comfort package, it’s helpful to have but it’s a feature you may never need.
Heated front armrests and upper door panels
The next part of the Warmth and Comfort package is the addition of heated front armrests and upper door panels. This option works like a heated seat, but it’s designed to warm the areas of the car where you would rest your arms instead.
This is a luxury feature that no one really needs, but in cold climates, it’s a helpful option to have. The heated armrest in particular is a great addition, and it feels like the whole cabin warms up quickly with this option turned on. Like the rapid heating, this isn’t a feature needed by anyone in warmer climates, but you’re unlikely to be considering the Warmth and Comfort package anyway.
Heated 2nd-row armrests
The final part of the Warmth and Comfort package is the option for heated second-row armrests. This is only available on a couple of models, those vehicles with a folding rear armrest (for obvious reasons). Put simply, the rear central armrest, and the armrests on the rear doors can be heated.
How often this feature will be used by most owners is debatable. Heated second-row armrests feel like the type of feature owners choose just to show off, proving you’ve chosen the best spec possible for your Mercedes. I’m sure some owners will get some use out of this feature, but if this was an option on its own I would avoid it.

Is the Warmth and Comfort Package Worth It?
Overall, we think the Warmth and Comfort package is only suitable if you’re in a very cold climate. For the majority of owners, at over $1,000, there are far better packages to choose from on your Mercedes. I also think that this will be one of those packages that doesn’t increase the re-sell value that much, so it’s difficult to recommend.
This pack has some helpful options, and it’s a great example of the luxury element you get in a Mercedes, that other brands lack. It falls short of a full recommendation though on the limited use and the cost.
