Never any guarantees about checked luggage, 99.8% of the time it will be fine. I am surprised it did not make a 90 minute connection. My 90 minute connections in FRA luggage has never been an issue

Take what is crucial in your hand luggage.

2 hours is fine even for a 15 to 20 minute delay.

As you are on the same ticket so if you have a serious delay LH will need rebook you.

if you get a Z gate you will be 10 minutes + passport control getting to the A gates at FRA, 15 minutes tops

if you get a B gate you are looking maybe at 30 minutes (usually quicker) to get from the arriving plane to the gate of the departing plane. To be at the gate 20 minutes before boarding you would be able to cope with a 1 hour delay to your inbound.

Been a while since my last visit to FRA: I'll be arriving at 8:20 from FLR at (probably) B1 on EN8861 and I need to connect to LH440 to IAH departing from (probably) Z62. I remember a long walk. Connection time is 1h 40m, is there any bus/shuttle/skyline option available? Thanks in advance!

You have up to three options, assuming those gates stick:

1) Walk through the B-A tunnel and clear passport control to go from A to Z.
2) Clear passport control into B-non-Schengen (follow signs for gates B20+) and take a shuttle bus to Z. This shuttle bus doesn't operate all day or even every day, so you might find yourself in B-non-Schengen without a way to get to Z without clearing security.
3) Take the Skyline from B to A, clear security into A, and then clear passport control to go from A to Z.

1) is the signposted and most straightforward route, but it does involve the most walking.

Or go out into the public area and re-clear security at Z. That is probably the shortest walk of all the options, but unless you are primarily worried about the amount of walking and not time or overall experience it is absolutely not recommended Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2024- - FlyerTalk Forums (8) The tunnel is probably the best overall option.

So I was in B non-schengen today and did some research for science.

A/Z bus well sign posted. And yet folks still confused, mostly by other confused folks. I helped two ladies that were trying to get to A but weren't sure as other people from their flight were walking away from the bus.

Here's one I don't think has been asked recently: for a 2-hour connection from B-NS (clean) to B-S and assuming the B-Z bus is running, is it better to take the bus to Z, clear passport control into A, use the lounges in A, and walk back to B-S via the tunnel; or to use the lounges in B-NS, clear passport control upstairs, and then security into B-S?

I’d use the lounge in A as you know how long it will take to walk to your gate, vs. clearing passport control and security after leaving the lounge in B-NS without knowing how long it will take.

That makes sense, thanks. Here's hoping for a Z arrival instead of a B-NS arrival, or for Carsten and the FRAport to build a lounge in B-S. One of them is likelier than the other. Connecting in Frankfurt [FRA] 2024- - FlyerTalk Forums (29)

Flying PRG (on LH) - FRA and then connecting to YYZ (on AC). Both flights are in J, if that matters. 4 hour connection and plan on spending time in the MLL. Any information on transfers/connections and security are greatly apppreciated. I'm assuming good duty free nearby.

Follow the signs for B which should take you to the tunnel, walk through to B Schengen, exit passport control into B non-Schengen (if bad queues, there are more lanes on the other side of duty free) and then head upstairs to MLL.

Arrived on LH447 from DEN on Friday, nothing like bussing an entire 787 worth of folks to the terminal.

Pleasant surprise, the first bus was J only. They started directing PE passengers to the second bus and we left even before the two HON/F vans.

Dropped off at BNS, immigration at ground level closed, escalators up two levels to the non-secure area in front of immigration, guaranteeing a bunch of folks a bonus, unnecessary transit security. At least those with Schengen connections could turn right at the bottom of the escalators, first time I've seen that security open in a while.

For me if was 30 minutes from wheels down to in a taxi, not bad for an apron position.

Had the pleasure to experience for the first time the new (?) bus arrival “ASS.” (A Schengen South). Bus dropped us off at the tip of the A gates (former gate A 42). First, we had to wait in line until the bus in front of us had unloaded all passengers, and the driver had finished inspecting the bus for items that were left behind. There is only space for one bus to unload passengers. Then all passengers needed to walk up a narrow staircase. No elevator or escalator available. And then you find yourself in the former gate A42 boarding area. From here, it is a 1.8 km walk if you have a connection at Z69 … Does anybody know if these ... arrivals are planned to be kept permanently?
